Fifty years ago this year the village of Llangyndeyrn and the valley of Cwm Gwendraeth Fach was in real danger of being flooded to create a large reservoir to provide the people of Swansea with water. Following a long battle by local residents, the valley was saved from drowning. Fifty years on we will be joining the villagers of Llangyndeyrn as they celebrate and remember, with a service of thanksgiving at St Cyndeyrn church.
