The first screen production of the unfinished novel by Edith Wharton, who died in 1937, dramatised by Maggie Wadey. The Buccaneers are an anarchic group of adventuring, free-spirited young women, who, snubbed by the elitist New York set, take aristocratic English society by storm in the heady milieu of the 1870s.
