Seasons in DetailTagsLinksStarsky and HutchThis 1970s squealing-tyres cop show followed the exploits of Ken Hutchinson (David Soul) and Dave Starsky (Paul Michael Glaser) as they sped around the fictional US Bay City in a red 1974 Ford Torino, endeavouring to lock up all of the low-lifes that they encountered. As well as Glaser (Fiddler on the Roof, Butterflies Are Free) and Soul (Tides of War, In The Cold Of The Night), the show also featured Antonio Fargas and Bernie Hamilton. Created by William Blinn, the executive producers were Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg. Starsky and Hutch ran from 1975 to 1979, consisting of 92 one-hour shows, plus a 90-minute pilot. The show was a huge hit early on, but was criticised for its violent images. Later episodes featured more romantic and socially themed episodes, and were less successful. Falling ratings and Glaser's desire to move on brought the show to a halt after four series. Starsky and Hutch was resurrected in 2004 for an affectionate film re-make. Ben Stiller starred as Starsky and Owen Wilson played Hutch. Glaser and Soul have brief cameos in the film. Genre: DramaRunning Time: 60 minutes (approx)Classification: PG CertificateMain Cast |
