This spectacular historically-based series follows the life and battles of Major Richard Sharpe (Sean Bean) as the dashing maverick British rifleman who is fighting against Napoleon in 19th century Europe's Napoleonic war.

Even though he is battling for England Sharpe still has time to make acquaintances in lady's chambers and to drink Sherry. Superb series well worth staying in and missing that huge party to watch.

Filmed on location, mainly in the Crimea and Turkey this series was based on the best-selling novels by Bernard Cornwell
