Secrets and Words: A Study in Time

Series of stand-alone dramas on the theme of adult literacy. After a successful interview, prospective teacher Sam goes out drinking with his friend Eddie. However, tragedy strikes when he slips and bangs his head. When he awakes, he finds that the injury has left him unable to read or write. Devastated by the prospect of losing his dream job, Sam decides to teach himself to read in time to start the job. He finds himself lashing out at his family, however, and his girlfriend realises she cannot be with him until he can face up to his condition. With the welcome party at his new school looming, will Sam be able to be honest about his condition?
