A naval technology scientist is being rushed to hospital with a gunshot wound, only for an unknown assailant to stop the ambulance and finish the job there and then, while also killing everyone else on board. The investigation takes an intriguing turn when the post-mortem reveals an object was removed from the victim's chest, and even more so when an unlikely link emerges between the dead man and a surfer, giving Deeks and Kensi the chance to pull on their wetsuits and head down to the beach.
