Harry is delighted with the motor car he has had brought in for a spectacular new window display. Roddy surprises Rose at home, where he is spotted by young Beatrice - but will she keep it secret? Harry visits Agnes to persuade her to come back to the store, which causes a falling out between her and Victor. But Henri is particularly pleased by her return, while Victor seems open to an offer from Lady Mae. Rose gets a visit from Ellen Love, and confronts Harry - who is at rock bottom. Hitting the bottle and disturbed by a traumatic childhood memory, he drives the new car off into the night.
