Law & Order: Los Angeles: Ballona Creek

Public works employee Luis Valdez is found stabbed to death in a ditch by the side of a road. He had recently visited the locations of several unsolved murders, so a theory is proposed that Valdez was on to the killer and was murdered to keep him quiet. To build a case, the team re-examines the evidence of the cold cases, using modern techniques, but this prompts the serial killer involved to come out of retirement.
