Drama on 3: The Radetzky March by Joseph Roth

Adapted by Mike Walker from the English translation of the novel by Michael Hofmann. The story of the end of the Austro-Hungarian Empire is told through the men of the Trotta family, three generations of servants loyal to their Emperor. The story starts at the second half of the nineteenth century when a Trotta saves the life of Franz Joseph on the battlefield, to the beginning of the twentieth when world war and old age wipes the Trottas and their Empire from the map, but not the memory, of Europe. The cast includes Bill Wallis, John Woodvine, Brian Pettifer, Richard Bremmer, Elliot Levey and Nicky Henson.
