Carnivàle: The Story So Far

In anticipation of season two of Carnivàle, this episode introduces us to the weird, wonderful, creepy and cataclysmic world of the Carnies. Bringing us up to speed with the story and premise behind season one of HBO's hit series, the programme examines the age-old fight between the forces of good and evil and follows the parallel stories of two gifted and troubled individuals: the young fugitive Ben Hawkins and the righteous preacher Brother Justin Crowe. Both Brother Justin and Ben Hawkins are haunted and guided by similar apocalyptic dreams that set the stage for the final battle between good and evil in season two. We also look at the colourful cast of supporting characters that make up the Carnivàle, from the 'freaks' to the 'rousties'.
