Ugly House to Lovely House with George Clarke: West Sussex

Tammy and Stuart live in a pretty village in West Sussex but their bungalow is outdated, with its main living rooms starved of light. The couple are desperate to create a family home but their options are severely limited. Enter architect Will Alsop, who designs a dramatic barrel-vaulted extension to the rear of the bungalow, complete with specially constructed exposed curved beams, an aluminium roof and porthole windows. It's certainly an audacious design - but what will the neighbours think?
