On Tuesday, Stuart Hazell was jailed for a minimum of 38 years for murdering his partner's 12-year-old granddaughter Tia Sharp. Criminologist and child protection expert Mark Williams-Thomas has been with Tia's family over the past nine months - witnessing at first hand the full horror of their ordeal - from the desperate search for the missing schoolgirl through to the trial of her killer and the realisation that they had all been betrayed in the worst way imaginable.
