Sunday Feature: Hardy and the Animals

Philosopher and New Generation Thinker Alasdair Cochrane visits Whirlow Hall Farm Trust as he explores the ethical implications of evolution in Thomas Hardy's novels and poems. He is joined by John Miller, who teaches English literature at Sheffield University, to consider the ways in which Hardy's animals have their own internal realities and far from being the backdrop to Wessex, drive the plots and play important parts in the lives of the human characters, from Tess Durbeyfield to Jude Fawley.
