Made in Great Britain: Shoes

The makers explore how Northampton became the shoe capital of Britain, as Steph McGovern takes them through the ages, guided by master shoemaker Scott McKee, who has hand-made shoes for dozens of high profile clients including Prince Charles and Daniel Craig. The makers start by recreating a 13th century turn shoe, then become part of the Victorian-era production line for the heeled Oxford shoe. Other tasks include producing a Second World-War marching boot that kitted out the British army and working on modern leather brogue boots
