Documentary series going behind the scenes at a front-line hospital in Afghanistan for the first time. The cameras follow NHS trauma specialists who have volunteered to help run Britain's military hospital at Camp Bastion, and to give first aid on the front line. Orthopaedic surgeon Hugo Gutherie and nurse Sue James are shocked when they meet children who have become casualties of war, and nurse Vanessa Miles flies into enemy territory to help civilians wounded by a suicide bomb.
