Kazakhstan has passed a new law making forced marriage a criminal offence, including the kidnapping of women and girls in order to marry them. Thousands of women are forced into marriage each year in Kazakhstan and the wider region. Monica Whitlock travels to Kazakhstan to meet some of the many women who have been abducted and explores the complex factors behind this phenomenon
