A tale of espionage, sex and a giant panda. Chi-Chi the panda came to Britain in 1958 because the Americans didn't want a bear tainted by the peril of Communism. She soon became the starlet of London Zoo, attracting constant media coverage. Romance inevitably followed when she crossed the Iron Curtain for a liaison with Soviet panda An-An. Arena recalls this warming story from the days of the Cold War and the Swinging 60s.
