Tracey and Lauren, one of the five ambulance crews covering the Yorkshire coastal towns of Scarborough and Whitby, are kept busy over the bank holiday weekend. Barnsley couple Alan and Jean have travelled to their holiday home, only for Jean to have a fall - and it soon becomes clear to the medics she is suffering from life-threatening sepsis. In ambulance control, one handler tries to arrange help for a man who has had an accident while working, while another is dealing with a 999 call from the daughter of an elderly woman who is choking in the remote village of Sinnington.
