24 Hours in Police Custody: The Kane Line

Series 7, episode 2

Another chance to see Monday's new episode, which has unprecedented access to a major surveillance operation run by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit, against an organised crime group behind a 'drugs line'. The Unit was established in 2010 to provide specialist covert policing capability to tackle the threat of organised crime groups across seven police forces in eastern England. Now viewers can watch as they fulfil their mission to identify, disrupt and dismantle an organised crime group. Squad members have never previously been prepared to reveal who they are or the methods they employ, until now. Surveillance officers have spent months watching a group of young men who they believe are part of a conspiracy to deliver huge quantities of heroin and crack onto the streets of Luton. The operation is so confidential that no one outside the unit, not even officers from CID, knows of its existence. Finally the unit decide to strike by making a series of tactical arrests.
