Grand Designs: The Street

Kevin McCloud follows a group of pioneering self-builders creating their own homes in Oxfordshire. In this episode, engineers Sean and Dianna plan to build an upside-down house. Having bedrooms on the ground floor means the first floor can be open plan, to make the most of the view out across the fields.But Dianna is given an unexpected offer to work abroad which upsets their carefully-laid plans. On Plot 10, Garrie, who has always dreamed of building his own home, is finally taking the opportunity. But the stakes are high as his wife Sue has a disability with health issues. Their home is the largest on the street and packed with expensive technology, including an internal lift. But will the investment of time, energy and money improve Sue's quality of life, or will the stress and delays prove too much to bear?
