Come Dine with Me: Christmas Special

Four amateur chefs from York take turns to prepare and serve one dish of a four-course festive banquet to the other three, who they've never met before. Each course is served in the contestant's own home, and the three visitors mark the food out of ten before they all move on to another contestant's house for the next course. Rosie Sheppard kicks off the evening with the starter. She's pinning her hopes on plenty of champagne with her signature cheese souffle; but does it rise to the occasion? Next Wayne Coyle cooks salmon en croute, accompanied by lashings of Christmas cheer. Wayne is determined to push the boat out with festive decorations, and is garlanding his house with lights, tinsel and streamers. But interior designer Peter Plaskitt thinks minimalism is the way forward. And he's a traditionalist in the kitchen, cooking partridge plucked by his own fair hand. Rounding off the meal is 32-year-old Maria Greenhough, who runs the city's winter ice rink.
