Billed as the new Barcelona but with property half the price, the dynamic up-and-coming city of Valencia combines rich history with cutting-edge architecture, a hip café society and great beaches. Chosen to host the America's Cup in 2007, it's now also benefiting from huge levels of investment and regeneration. Marketing and IT couple Kate Baker and Richard Moore want to use the equity on their Brighton flat to buy a holiday crash pad. But in a red hot property market, they need nerves of steel if they want to get in on the action. With Amanda Lamb on hand to referee, it's a question of whether Kate's heart, or Richard's investment head, holds sway.
