Set 10 years before the events of the original series, La Belle Sauvage tells the story of 11-year-old Malcolm Polstead, a pot-boy working at the Trout Inn on the banks of the Thames in Oxford. When Malcolm and his daemon Asta hear rumours of a mysterious baby girl being cared for by the nuns of the nearby Godstow Priory, he sets out to find out more.
