Opening Lines

John Yorke looks at how John Hersey's 1946 account of Hiroshima in the New Yorker magazine brought home the horror of atomic weaponry to the Western world and changed journalism in the process. John speaks to Janine di Giovanni, award-winning war reporter and founder of war crimes unit the Reckoning Project about how pivotal the article was and how it impacts her work today.
