Stuart HazeldineStuart Hazeldine was born on Thursday, June 10th, 1971 and is currently 54 years old. After deciding he wanted to write and direct films whilst studying at university, Stuart Hazeldine sold his first screenplay in 1995 at the age of 24, and for the next few years he was probably the youngest professional screenwriter in the UK.
In 1997 he secured representation in L.A. and began writing scripts for Hollywood studios. In 2001 he wrote and co-produced the sci-fi TV movie Riverworld for the Sci-Fi Channel that was produced by director Alex Proyas (I, Robot, Dark City, The Crow). It premiered worldwide in 2003. In 2004 he wrote, produced, financed and directed ‘Christian' with a 40-strong crew of talented professionals who had previously made prime-time TV dramas such as Cold Feet.
Since then he has co-written the supernatural thriller Knowing for Summit Entertainment, starring Nicolas Cage and Rose Byrne and directed by Alex Proyas (I, Robot), and he has rewritten the Twentieth Century Fox remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still starring Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, John Cleese and Kathy Bates, and directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism Of Emily Rose).
He is currently adapting John Milton's religious epic poem Paradise Lost for Legendary Pictures (The Dark Knight, 300, Superman Returns) and Derrickson, and he is co-adapting The Tripods with Proyas for Paramount Pictures..
