This amiable comedy, directed by David Schwimmer, stars Simon Pegg (pictured) and features a number of British comedy stars, including Dylan Moran and Simon Day.
When Dennis (Pegg) found himself standing at the altar with a gorgeous fiancée (Thandie Newton) and a son on the way, he reacted in the only way he knew how - he hot-footed it out of there.
Five years on and he's a security guard in a lingerie store, a part-time dad and a dedicated couch potato. But when his ex, Libby, starts to get serious with a super-fit, supersuccessful American (Hank Azaria), Dennis realises that he made a massive mistake in letting her go. Naturally, the best plan to get her back is to enter the marathon and beat her smug new man to the finish line.
Ex-Friend Schwimmer sticks with the tried-and-tested formula of comedy sporting underdog for his first experience of directing for the big screen, with some success. Pegg (who co-wrote the script) is everyone's favourite Britcom leading man, and there are many cameos to look out for, including David Walliams and Stephen Merchant.
