A fantastic adaptation of a play about how one couple deal with grief after the death of their young son.
Becca (Nicole Kidman) and Howie (Aaron Eckhart) Corbett were a happy suburban couple, until their four-year-old son Danny (Phoenix List) was hit by a car and killed. Both grief-stricken, but dealing with their loss in different ways, the Corbetts' relationship takes the strain as a chasm between their coping methods emerges.
While Becca battles to carry on with life as normal, Howie embraces group therapy, and, in his wife's absence, bonds with fellow member Gabby (Sandra Oh). Becca, meanwhile, finds comfort in the unlikeliest of places, in a friendship with the young man (Miles Teller) who caused Danny's death.
