Considered rather average on its release in 1967, this stylish John Boorman cult thriller has since become a neo-noir classic. Lee Marvin (pictured) plays Walker, an implacable, remorseless, hard-nosed gangster.
Trying to help his gangster friend Mal Reese (John Vernon), Walker is shot a number of times and left for dead. He soon discovers that his own wife is Reese's lover and the two had plotted this "accident".
Walker returns to wreak revenge on those who double-crossed him and left him for dead. In so doing, he penetrates the very heart of the all-powerful corporate crime syndicate, The Organization.
