You need to suspend disbelief to enjoy this daft romantic action comedy to the full. If you can ignore the ludicrous premise - that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are a married couple who are becoming disenchanted with each other, are both highly skilled assassins, and neither knows what the other does (until they get a call for their next job, and are accidentally double-booked to bump each other off) - then you're in for a rollicking two hours' worth of high hokum.
Released in 2005 and a sizable hit at the box office, it's directed with great aplomb by Doug Liman. Pitt and Jolie give it their all, making a reasonable stab at being a believable couple, bickering through the mayhem and looking like they actually enjoyed making the film. Vince Vaughn, as fellow hitman Eddie, steals the scenes he's in, and Simon Kinberg's script is often super sharp. Be prepared though, as things get well out of hand towards the end. One hell of a ride.
