Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer star in Steven Soderbergh's drama about male strippers in Florida. Drawing partly on his own real-life experiences of stripping when he was a teen, Tatum plays the movie's eponymous central character.
Mike is in his 30s and has for some time earned his living by disrobing for the cash-paying audiences who frequent the Xquisite All-Male Revue. However, he's given reason to reassess the way his life is going when a new young recruit, Adam, joins the team.
The enthusiasm with which Adam embraces his new lifestyle only serves to sharpen Mike's awareness of its shallowness; and then there's Adam's sister Brooke, who Mike begins to fall in love with.
