Friends Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudeikis) are bored with their passionless marriages and yearn for the freedom of their single days. Sensing their men are dissatisfied, Maggie (Jenna Fischer) and Grace (Christina Applegate) grant their husbands a 'hall-pass', which entitles them to a week off from marriage to do whatever they want.
The guys can't believe their luck, and hit the town with their friends Gary (Stephen Merchant), Hog Head (Larry Joe Campbell) and Flats (J.B. Smoove) to make the most of their independence. It turns out, however, that the lads aren't quite the players they thought, and it's their temporarily single wives who attract the attention.
Famed for their crude yet endearing humour, the Farrelly brothers have struggled to top their 90s gross-out classic There's Something About Mary. However, starring the likeable paring of Wilson and Sudeikis, Hall Pass has plenty to enjoy. As you'd expect from the Farrellys, it's not the most sophisticated of comedies, but there are some laugh-out-loud moments and a mighty supporting turn from Merchant.
