Open House With Gloria Hunniford - 500th Episode

A very special Open House today, as Gloria Hunniford celebrates the 500th edition of her popular chat show. With celebrity guests, good-time music, and clips from Gloria's favourite shows, this promises to be a glorious way to wile away the afternoon.

Comedian Brian Conley, who appeared on the very first Open House on April 27th 1998, will be turning tables on our Gloria by quizzing the master interviewer. Brian has been a regular visitor to the show, and is always a hit with the audience and viewers.

We also take a look back at the highlights from the previous 499 shows today. Classic clips from some big-name interviews will provide Gloria with plenty to be proud about. We see her talking to Sir Cliff Richard, Dame Julie Andrews, Michael Ball, Dolly Parton and Sir John Mills (who, well into his 90's, still loves to appear on the show), and remember Ronnie Corbett's hilarious exploits in the kitchen.

Some friends of the show, and admirers of Gloria, will also be offering their personal tributes to the first lady of afternoon chat, as they recall their experiences on the show, and the grace and style of their hostess. Providing the music is Andy Prior and his Sinatra-style band, who will lead Gloria, her guests and the studio audience in a sing-along of some old favourites.

So join in the fun by tuning in to the 500th edition of the show that combines celebrity chat, human interest stories, topical news, cookery, gardening and the best music. Here's to the next 500 glorious episodes - long may the Queen of Chat reign!
