The Client (1994)

Mark Sway (Brad Renfo) is an every-day street-wise 11-year-old kid who is inadvertently told the location of the body of missing US State Senator Boyd Boyett and the name of the hitman who assasinated him. After telling Mark this information Jerome Clifford, a Louisiana lawyer who is currently defending Mafioso hitman Barry 'The Blade' Modano (Anthony LaPaglia), shoots himself.

Mark, unfortunately, is found at the scene, and both the FBI and the Mafia quickly realise that Mark probably knows more than he says he does and set out to silence him. Armed with this knowledge Mark set out to find himself a lawyer to protect him.

He soon finds Reggie Love (Susan Sarandon), the hard-nosed lawyer, intent on protecting Mark from the Federal prosecutor Roy Foltrigg (Tommy Lee Jones), FBI and Mafia. She quickly becomes convinced that Mark knows more than he is letting on, but he refuses to talk about it to anyone. However she soon puts her career, as well as her life, on the line for the young boy.
