Lighthearted comedy in which an inveterate gambler dupes his widower brother-in-law into joining him on a cruise, where he hopes to fleece eligible women. However, the latter soon discovers that there is more to the whole affair than meets the eye. Lemmon and Matthau revive their long-standing partnership to great effect in a film that contains more than a few surprises.
