The life story of Mohammed Ali Jinnah, the man who founded modern Pakistan, is told in this wonderful movie.
Told through flashback sequences his souls try to find eternal rest.
The story begins in 1947 as we see Mohammed Jinnah (Christopher Lee) pleadeing for a seperate nation espeicially for the Muslim regime. This, of course, infuriates Lord Mountbatten (James Fox) who then attempts to enlist Gandhi (Sam Dastor) and Nehru (Robert Ashby) in the hope they may persuade Jinnah to cease these efforts.
However, much to Lord Mountbattens dismay, Gandhi collaborates with Jinnah which in trun upsets Nehru vehemently.
Now we see Jinnah refusing the position of prime minister due to political implications that we are informed about in the next flashback to 1916 which reveals all.
