Channel 4's critically acclaimed foreign affairs series returns for its ninth run. In the second programme of the five-part series, Sandra Jordan travels to Peru to report on how some of the indigenous population are rejecting western capitalism and its influence on Peru. Although Peru now has it's first indigenous leader in President Toledo, the indigenous community feel that little, if anything, has changed for the better as most of the population continues to live in dire poverty, with drugs and theft a huge problem. Sandra Jordan reports on the alarming rise of Christian Nationalists with their neo Nazi values. From Peru, she travels to Bolivia where she meets Felipe Quispe who discusses his dream of one day forging a self-supporting Inca nation that would spread beyond current national borders and reach out across the whole of the Andes.
