The London Marathon

Sue Barker hosts BBC1's live coverage of the world's most prestigious road-running event, The Flora London Marathon, which this year celebrates its 21st birthday.

More than 30,000 runners will try to conquer the 26.2 mile course through the streets of London, including famous names such as Sir Steve and Lady Ann Redgrave, Big Brother's Craig Phillips, and BBC Sport's own Steve Rider, as well as a host of top athletes, including three-times winner Antonio Pinto and British newcomer Mark Steinle.

Coverage will begin at 8.45am and continues throughout the morning - uninterrupted - until 2pm. "Sunday Grandstand" reports on the day and highlights can be seen on BBC2 at 6.40pm.

Brendan Foster, Paul Dickenson and Steve Cram provide the commentary for the elite race and wheelchair races, while Hazel Irvine, Jane Hoffen and Christina Boxer are on the streets to talk to some of the "fun" runners, many of whom raise huge amounts of money for charity - a major part of the success of the Marathon.
