From its very first days, the WestCountry news team have set a new pattern for regional broadcasting.

The flagship programme, "Westcountry Live" features a unique local news service where the programme splits four ways to Truro, Plymouth, Exeter and Barnstaple. With further regional studios in Penzance, Torbay, Taunton and Weymouth, we can quickly reflect events happening from Land's End to Portland Bill.

The "Lunchtime News Programme" provides you with an half-hour news programme in the middle of the day.

"Westcountry Lunchtime Live" brings you in-depth coverage of news across the region, with live interviews, opinion and features.

"Westcountry Weekend" is one of a number of regional programmes on weekdays between 5.30 and 6.00pm and provides you with a full guide to the weekend in the South West.

From early morning to late evening, the Westcountry news bulletins bring you the latest in ground breaking stories, including a second four-way split for local news after the ITN late bulletin at 11p.m.

To round off this brilliant regional news programming comes their comprehensive Sports coverage which includes; daily features, results in "Scoreboard" on Saturdays and football action in "Goals Extra" on Sundays. Also including "The West Country Match" on Monday nights.

Carlton also produces a number of regional Current Affairs programmes, including the award winning series "Special Report" and "The View From Here"
