Documentary telling the stories of specific bombs dropped on Britain during the Blitz, from their impact on individual lives through to the wider consequences for the Second World War. The first film follows a bomb that fell on Martindale Road in the East End of London on the first night of the Blitz. There was relief that it remained unexploded - but tragedy was soon to follow. The story is told through first-hand testimony, diary excerpts and meticulous records kept at the time.
