The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

Directed by
Tobe Hooper

Although low in budget, this movie is blood curdling and very scary and is loosely based on the true crimes of Ed Gein who was also a partial inspiration for the 'Psycho' films.

Whilst on a road trip in Texas, five teenagers drive past a slaughter house and pick up a very sinister hitch hiker (Edwin Neal), that they soon get rid of when he turns out to be REALLY wierd.

Sally (Marilyn Burns), Franklin (Paul A. Partain), Jerry (Allen Danziger), Kirk (William Vail) and Pam (Teri McMinn) soon come across an old family home where they meet a family of cannibals and they are then plunged into a never ending nightmare as they find the family like using their power tools VERY much.

The five are to be dispatched of, through various methods of gruesome death, including the use of a chainsaw. Now they have to fight against the clock and the freaks to escape their gruesome fate. However the saw-wielding Leatherface (Gunnar Hansen) won't let them escape without a fight.
