Staff shortages cause tension in CPU, with Ramani bearing the brunt as she struggles to cope with an increased workload - and when an outside source brings the matter to Adam's attention, the situation becomes hugely political, only serving to aggravate the already volatile relationship between Jack and Neil. By way of an immediate solution, Jack assigns Terry to help Ramani with the case of a man suspected of being a paedophile - but Ramani is worried about Terry's ability to deal with such a task given his own traumatic background. Meanwhile, the rest of the relief let their hair down at Lance's stag party - but when the guest of honour nips outside for a breath of fresh air, he is suddenly attacked from behind by a group who put a bag over his head and bundle him into the back of a van.
