The Bill: New Beginnings

Newly-promoted Sergeant Jo Masters and PC Leon Taylor are called to an aggravated burglary which has left the homeowner, John Baker, dead. As DS Max Carter and DC Grace Dasari investigate, they discover that Baker's wife Tanisha has been on a missing persons list for 20 years, and further questioning establishes that she ran away from home to marry John because her parents disapproved. The officers also learn that John had been having an affair and that his wife was terrified of his drunken, violent rages. Later, when both Tanisha and Baker's son Ian confess to the murder, it is left to Grace to uncover the truth.
