Electric Decade: A Room of One's Own
Virginia Woolf's insightful feminist text, dramatised by Linda Marshall Griffiths. The year is 1928, and a woman is asked to talk of women and writing. She takes a walk in the university town of Oxbridge, where she discovers the poverty of the one female college there. She decides to hunt through the British Museum for proof that women even existed in history and wonders what would have happened if Shakespeare had had a sister and imagines conversations with the great British female novelists. Thus, she comes to an understanding of the difficulties that face the female writer and women who want to have a creative life. With Jenny Platt.
