A Question of Pop

Jamie Theakston pops the question in a new series of the show which puts two teams of the biggest hitters and hippest newcomers from planet pop through their musical paces.

Jamie is in the hot seat asking the questions (and despairing over the answers) as regular captains Noddy Holder and Suggs head the teams through a musical obstacle course in a bid to prove their pop credibility - or otherwise.

Guests facing the music in the first of the second series (aired on Saturday 28th April, 2001) are Carol Decker (T'Pau) and Five's Ritchie Neville, on Suggs's team, and Midge Ure and Claire Richards (STEPS), lining up with Noddy.

Their tasks include identifying a feast of famous pop faces cunningly obscured for the "Pictureboard" round and picking out "What Happened Next?" in a selection of pop music's most ludicrous moments.

Knowledge of all musical subjects is tested in the "Buzzer Round" and there are a few surprises lined up in the "Mystery Guest" feature which, in the last series, saw Fay from STEPS launch a new career as a Kate Bush lookalike and Aled Jones's unique interpretation of the Prodigy's FireStarter song.
