DCI Banks

The return of the gritty detective series based on the novels by Peter Robinson.

A man and a woman claiming to be social workers come to Katy Heath's house and tell her that they need to take her son Kyle away. Katy complies, but when the boy fails to reappear and the couple prove to be unknown to social services, DCI Alan Banks is drawn into a full-scale search for the child.

After a search of Katy's house reveals a drugs connection and several witnesses - including Kyle's father - contradict her version of events, Banks begins to question whether she is telling the truth. DI Helen Morton is asked by Banks to try and win Katy's confidence, but dealing with her own problems appears to be too much for the detective.

Meanwhile, DS Annie Cabbot believes she has found a possible suspect at Kyle's school. As the search becomes ever more desperate, Banks must find a way to reconcile his colleagues' conflicting attitudes before it is too late.
