Fed up with self-destructive behaviour, a group of friends stage the ultimate wake-up call in this radical new series. We've seen kids being supernannied and wives being swapped, but in the world of Facebook, Bebo and instant messaging, friendship groups have become almost like surrogate families.
In Best Friend Rehab, friendship groups stage interventions to confront the bad behaviour of their peers, with the help of leading psychologist Cecilia d'Felice. From alcoholism and exhibitionism through to romantic obsession, no issue is too hot to handle for these brave friends. The explosive encounters are secretly filmed, leading to an emotional climax when the true extent of their behaviour is revealed. Could friendship be more effective than family?
In tonight's episode, binge drinker Jenn is forced to face up to her damaging behaviour. Since the break-up of her relationship, the usually quiet Jenn has been knocking back bucketfuls of alcohol. On a downward spiral, she transforms from a girl lacking in confidence to an aggressive drunk who gets herself kicked out of bars, suffers all-day hangovers and regularly has to be carried home. Her friends Channah, Katie and Joe are worried sick about her health and safety, but they're also tired of her embarrassing behaviour. Can they help Jenn see the error of her ways before it's too late?
